Read. You can read whatever you want: Sports Illustrated, Jet, and The New York Times, comic books, the Holy Bible, your Cheerios box, online blogs or web articles… whatever! Reading increases your brainpower.

·       Look up words you don’t understand in the dictionary

·       Read assignments questions first to help you identify key pints.

·       Take breaks from reading to write down what you learn

·       Read outside of class to improve your reading skills.

·       Read out loud, with classmates, friends, or parents.

·       Read with a purpose.

·       Take reading courses to improve your reading rate and comprehension.

·       Take a speed-reading course if you desire.

·       Take notes while reading.

·       When possible, read from your own books and materials; this way, you can mark, highlights, cross reference, and writes notes in the margins, ECT. If the books belong to someone else or the library, you can’t do this.

·       Read religious literature.

·       Read from the Internet

·       Read daily. Set a goal to read a book at least each month. Then a book a week.

Part 3

Study. Yeah, that’s right. Study. Read, review and analyze class material so you know it. This takes time, effort and a quiet place. If you learn how to study now, you’ll be way ahead before you even start college.

·       Ask for help if you’re having trouble. You may need to ask more than one person.

·       Have a special area for studying where you won’t be distracted.

·       Study in small “chunks” and take regular breaks. Try not to cram

·       Have a regular study routine to make studying a habit.

·       Study with a friend or group and share information.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT.

How to Always Succeed in School

Part 2

Listen and ask questions. Still afraid of looking stupid? Don’t worry about it. If you’ve got a question about something, chances are your classmates do too.

·       Review your notes and assignments before class.

·       Give your teacher your full attention and concentrate on what is being said.

·       Relate the topic to what you already know and listen for main ideas.

·       Make eye contact with your teacher and take notes.

·       Ask questions if you don’t understand, but try not to interrupt your teacher. Raise your hand or wait until your teacher pauses or asks for questions.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT.

“What I Will Do to Graduate from High School “

In order for me to graduate from high school I need to get good grades. I actually want to graduate high school, and be somebody in life and get a good job. I want to graduate high school and after go to the University of Santa Barbara or UCLA. I need to get good grades in order for me to go to a good college and actually graduate high school. I need to stay out of trouble. Hang out with good people, not trouble makers so I won’t be influenced by my friends.

These are something’s I should do to graduate high school :

1.   Always go to school, only be absent when I am really sick or have something that is really, really important .

2.   Do well in school, which means get good grades .

3.    Stay out of trouble.

4.   Be respectful, and responsible .

5.    Study for test / quizzes .

6.    Try to be a really good student .

7.   Always Choose The Right .

You should try to never be late or absent to school because that means, that you can miss out on something really important. Always do your homework and classwork, ask for help if you do not understand your homework or classwork. Stay for tutoring, if you need help with anything. I should also do extra-curricular. Like join a sport or a club, because it will help me graduate high school and it will also help me get into the college I want to go to. Always do the right thing, and make good choices for you nobody else but you.

How to Succeed in School

Part 1

Some experts say the difference between good students and poor students isn’t mainly ability. Instead, it’s how students aren’t mainly ability. Instead, it’s how students organize themselves to use their abilities. A little organization can produce amazing results!

Get Organized:

ü Have a homework agenda or scribbler to keep track of your assignments, and always carry it.

ü Ask the teacher for some outside help when the classroom explanation is not adequate for you.

ü Use scribblers to put your notes in, and keep them organized.

ü Have phone numbers for classmates, especially of one who will be your “homework buddy”. This is someone in your class who collects hand-outs and assignments for you when you are absent from school. You can barrow your buddy’s notes when you return to school, and you can do the same for your friend.

ü Ask questions when you are unsure of something.

ü Pay attention in class as it is very easy to let your mind wander. Take notes, concentrate on what is being said’ it will be easier to absorb the information being presented.

ü Keep your bookshelf, desk, and kitbag neat.

ü Be prepared for each class, bringing the materials you need to class (including pencils and paper).
